After studying the letter Ii we read, Ice Cream: The Full Scoop by Gail Gibbons. Normally, I like to emphasize the short vowel sound only, but every time I asked for a word that started with an I, someone would give me "ice cream"! You can't fight city hall!~ This was a good opportunity to introduce the long vowel sounds. If you read about Ice Cream.... you are going to want to eat some! So, we all enjoyed a cup of vanilla.. ironically this was in the middle of a cold front and it was a chilly day for south Florida.
