Weeeeeeeeeks ago we planted grass seeds inside potatoes as part of our unit on plants. I have done this many times and the grass always grew quickly. Well, we had very s-l-o-w grass seeds this time! I was planning on letting the class take their potato home before Thanksgiving, but only 3 or 4 potatoes had "hair"! I watered and watered and watered and begged the things to GROW! The kids were getting disappointed and losing interest. I gave all of the potatoes a good drink before break and low and behold- when we returned from our long weekend... everyone had hair! The kids made faces on the potato and brought them home!
